For us, the festival was everything we could have hoped for, we set out to improve on last year’s event, which was a huge step up from our first year, and from the feedback we’ve received we think we may have done it! We took the decision to decrease the number of taps at this year’s festival but there was still a wide choice of beers to experience from some of the best breweries around. Representatives from most of the participating breweries also allowed audiences to meet the brewers themselves and talk about their beers – this is such an important part of the Fest and guest attendance will increase heavily next year especially from international brewers.
The diversity of the food in our street market was a huge hit with audiences and the music courtesy of solo artists, bands and DJ’s really extended the beer festival experience. And as for the new additions – the ‘free play’ retro games were very well received, Lumen’s animated interpretation of the festival image and our new neon sign made the right statement – a beacon of light for beer lovers everywhere!!
Please tell us what you thought to the festival we love to get your thoughts and feedback and your comments help us to enhance things at future events
The festival couldn’t take place without the support of lots of people – we’d like to thank all the breweries that attended the festival, we know how difficult it can be sometimes for brewery representatives to attend festivals like ours but your presence makes the festival what it is; the street food guys, you created a fantastic market and the food was out of this world; the musicians and DJ’s from Spirit of John to That Fucking Tank – your music lifted the festival to a new level and got people’s feet tapping throughout the festival; to all the staff and volunteers, you all did a fantastic job and were the beating heart of LIBF!; to Drew Millward for his incredible festival image which got people talking about the event months before it happened; Kirkstall Brewery – for their continued support and advice, we couldn’t ask for a better festival partner and finally to you, our audience, for putting your faith in us and attending the festival – you were all awesome!
So now onto our 4th event taking place 3-6 September 2015 – plans are already underfoot and we won’t be resting on our laurels, LIBF in 12 months time needs to eclipse this event!!
Next up for us is IndyMan in early October – if you haven’t experienced this festival over the Pennines try and get a ticket, the event is sooooo good.
Cheers from the LIBF team
