Amity Brewery Expands Beyond Leeds
Amity Brewery from Farsley is preparing to move. The production site, previously located in the same building as their taproom on the outskirts of Leeds, is now relocating to Bradford. Local authorities have given the green light to open a new brewery in the Albion Mills building. The owners are visibly excited — after months of preparation, the project is finally taking off.
The new Amity Brewery will be based in the Greengates area of northern Bradford. It’s a former industrial district, still home to historic textile mill buildings. One of them, Albion Mills, will become the new home for the brewery.
The choice of location is no accident. There’s more space, easier logistics, and rent is noticeably cheaper than in Leeds. Bradford is also becoming increasingly welcoming to small businesses. Several new venues have opened in the city over the past two years, and the brewers are confident they’ll find their place, too.
But most importantly, locals simply love the drink — it fits naturally into their lifestyle. The city is full of sports fans and online gaming enthusiasts. They plan to start brewing in Bradford in May, with the grand opening scheduled for the end of June. By then, the first batch should be ready, and a celebration is planned for the local community — complete with beer, music, and tours of the new facility.
The Amity team doesn’t plan to stop there. They’re already thinking about opening another location — possibly a classic pub with a focus on ales and keg beer. There are no concrete plans yet, but the team’s spirit is high.
The old brewing equipment won’t go to waste. It’s been purchased by another West Yorkshire brewery, Lost Cause. From now on, it will continue its work — just in a different town.
