Thank You !

After all the planning and hard work the 1st Leeds International Beer Festival is over – we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along our first event, it was a huge success with over 3500 people attending the festival over 4 days. It was incredible for us to see so much support for the event and we hope you enjoyed the beer, food and music that was on offer. By the end of Sunday afternoon all the beer had gone and clouds started to cover the sky after a weekend of glorious sunshine and warm weather. This was our first event and the first major beer festival in Leeds City Centre for many years, we think we got lots of things right but we know we can improve certain areas, if you were caught up in the huge queue for the Saturday night session we’re sorry it took some time to get you all in the building – thanks for bearing with us. We’ve learnt a lot of valuable lessons, we’ve listened to your feedback and we’ll be making some changes to ticketing and entry to the festival next year. We’d also like to thank all the participating breweries who supported us in our first year, the foodie heroes, all the bands and solo artists who lit up the main stage in the hall and our festival volunteers – without their help the event would not have been possible. For us this wasn’t a one off event, we want to build the festival into one of largest and most important events of its kind in the UK. We hope you’ll join us next year!

SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!

Ok then!
We thought it would be a fun idea to create our own festival money so we did exactly that. During the festival you'll be able to buy our own currency with denominations of 50p / £1 / £3 and £5 and each lovely note features a famous (or not so famous) quote about beer - with gems from Jack Nicholson and Frank Zappa - who also features on our promotional flyers. You'll need the notes to buy beer and food at the festival and you can buy as much as you need in the foyer of the Town Hall - this is where you'll also be given a commemorative glass and full colour programme guide. Check out the picture on the left - we love 'em!
